Buying for someone else can be harder than choosing for yourself! Colour, Style, Size, there areso many choices, and you don't want to get it wrong. But it doesn't have to be a mind field of unknown choices. With Knowledge comes power, or in this case, the ability to make amore informed choice. Follow these simple steps & you can be sure that your gift will take pride of place on their wall, not in the local dumpster. ![]() Colour You will undoubtedly know the person that you are buying for, so you might already have a good handle on what colours they are into. But if you have no idea, you could think about their house, the rooms, the colour schemes. White, off White & Light coloured walls are easy to match - just pick out the accent colours, the sofa, the curtains, the cushions & accessories. All of these would look amazing complemented with a piece of art with matching colours. Ifyou don't know what the colour scheme is, or you don't know what roomthey would put it in, or they haven't even moved in yet, don't worry! If you play it safe with a black & white image, you can't go wrong. Blacks & whites go with anything, and to be honest theyare more likely to be treasured and kept for longer in our experience. Style Personal choice always varies from person to person. You might already knowwhat they are into, perhaps a romantic nostalgia for the 1960's, or a iconic legend that they idolise. In that case, check the Cult & Retro Art section respectively. Right image wrong colour? If you don't really know what your recipient is passionate about, there are a number of choices open to you. The Floral and Organic art sections are good choices, it's a safe call for any one with a nice modern house that wants to give it a contemporary edge. We find that Urban art does vary at the moment. Many people now have large Plasma Televisions and a scattering of space age speakers and technological appliance,so the average living room is becoming quite futuristic! The last thing you would want is an oil painting of poster on the wall. What you might want to consider is some contemporary, modern art from some of our favorite artists. You could even take it to the next level and go larger, ormore adventurous with the configurations and choose a Special Sized set of canvases. Or, if you are feeling bold, try something fromour Stencil Art section. Alternatively,if you have a certain type of present to buy, we could also be ofhelp. Fathers day for example, why not try some Cult art, a GeorgeBest or a Marlon Brando.Valentines day perhaps? Check out the LOVE section for some subtle, rose inspired gifts. How could we forget, what better gift than your friend(s), actuallyimortalised on canvas for the whole world to see? That is what ourPopArt2 Canvas section is all about, upload and image to us, and wewill strip it down, redraw it and bounce it over to you back andforth until you are happy. Colours, Style, size, it's all up to you,but remember, we are here to help and advise, so if you want to knowsomething just pick up the phone and ask, we would be glad to help.
Size Finally,Size. Apparently size doesn't matter, but lets face it, if it doesn't fit on the wall, it is a bit of a disaster! If you are not quite sure, go for something smaller. It's a simple theory, and we reallyshouldn't advice that as we will make less money, but stuff it! You can't really go wrong with 24"x16", it is a good gift size.32" x 24" is a great all rounder, and would fit on mostwalls, and if you are really confidant that it going on a spaciouswall, go for the 48"x32". You can find a guide of prices and sizes, Other sizes are available, get on our Commissions form & request a custom size if you want one, there are no hidden charges.

![]() So about a year ago we started looking for somewhere bigger. Previously, we had a total of 1050 sqft split over 4 rooms. We were looking at doubling our size as a minimum and after almost a year of looking for something suitable and within our price range, we found Vinola House.
Now this is a fantastic space. Solid wood floor, high volted wooden beamed ceiling, 30's industrial with that fantastic front door and our favourite part, and old fashioned "Ghost Busters" Industrial lift! Plus, and this is probably the most crucial thing for our industry, lots and lots of natural light. It needed some work though. So over the last couple of months, with help from some awesome friends and family, we have cleaned the floor, built a partition wall and re-painted the whole place. On top of that, we have built ourselves a fantastic in door spray booth with it's own (slightly over the top) extraction system. This should, when we have it fully set up and operational reduce our production time on our hand sprayed metal and vinyl art! We feel really positive about this space. We have almost 3 times the space we use to, and because it's in one big open space, we can organise better. With all this space, we also have great opportunities to expand our company. ![]() We've got loads to do this year too, with our new website launching later this year, and our new vinyl sticker section should launch at the same time. We're really excited about these, so we couldn't wait and stuck one on our front door! Over the next few months as we start doing some one off artwork for our new white walls, we'll keep our friends and fans updated on both our Facebook page, and our Twitter feed. |
