How Will Art Affect 2012
At the speed of light we are already in 2012, it doesn't seem more than a couple of weeks since we were making our predictions in October 2011 for next year's interior trends and here we are already. Going into 2012 there are still ongoing global conflicts, fears of a double dip recession and financial woes across the planet. This year also sees some very positive sporting events that will have global appeal and also spark passion in the UK amongst sporting fans. London hosts the Olympics whilst Poland hosts the European Football Championships in which England will be playing at least three matches during the group stages. With the diversity in emotions between current negative global issues such as the financial crisis and the positive's of our nation's football team doing well art can provide balance and also help to alter moods and personaility one way or the other. For example, many people are choosing to decorate their walls and interiors with uplifting colours and canvas prints that really brighten up a room and give off a warm, positive karma that helps with individual personality on a paticular day. Bright coloured art and images also help during the winter months when we have more hours of darkness than daylight and often go for days without a day of sunlight.
People affected by the recession or with financial woes will not want to be sat in a living room, bedroom or workplace that is filled with black, dark blue or negative images, this would onl serve to make people more depressed and give off an increased negative vibe during the day. Art really can affect people's emotions and persona, with major sporting events coming up nostalgia is also on people's minds and heroes of yesteryears become fashionable once again as they are showcased through art and canvas prints for all to see. Think of iconic moments that gripped the nation such as Gazza's tears in the World Cup Semi Final of 1990, Bobby Moore Holding the World Cup aloft at Wembley Stadium in 1966 or Linford Christie winning the 100metre sprint at Barcelona in 1992. All these histroic moments will lift moods by reflecting triumpth, emotion and spark memories, this is the power of art. Pride in our nation is also expected to be at the forefront of people's minds especially with the Olympics being hosted in our capital city London and being showcased to the whole world with millions of people watching every live event daily. This pride is sure to be presented by individuals at home and in the workplace through canvas prints of olympic symbols, London related images and even old London images. Expect red double-decker buses, old red phone booths, images of the Thames River and Riverbank, Skylines of Lnodon and symbolic buildings such as Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and such like. However you choose to alter your persona and emotion through art it is without doubt art will have a direct effect on 2012 in many ways, we shall wait eagerly to see and look forward to your feedback throughout the year! Happy New Year and Best Wishes for 2012 from all at WhoArtNow!
